Product Overview

A mower that gives one solid click, cranks only after several key turns, or shows excessive voltage drop across the main studs may have burnt contactor surfaces. Weak batteries, corroded cables, safety interlocks, ignition switch, and starter motor must be tested too.

The intermittent-duty contactor uses a low-current start signal to connect the battery to the starter. It is not the PTO clutch solenoid and should not be used for an unsupported continuous-duty load.

Match 117-1197 or 784-1221-210, 12-volt coil, stud size and spacing, small-terminal layout, mounting bracket, duty rating, mower model, and serial number.

Key Features & Performance

  • 12-volt intermittent-duty starter contactor
  • Heavy-current stud connections for matching mower cables
  • Trombetta and Toro references for direct comparison

  • 117-1197
  • 784-1221-210

Compatibility Notice

Northline Parts does its best to list all known compatible models, but the correct part may fit an application that is not shown above. Model year, production date, serial number, engine or equipment specification, installed options, and previous repairs can change fitment. Match the original part, reference number, dimensions, connectors, mounting points, and product photos before purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can a bad solenoid still make a click? A: Yes. The coil may pull while burnt contacts fail to deliver current to the starter.

Q: Will it fit every Toro TimeCutter? A: No. Match 117-1197, terminal layout, bracket, model, and serial.

Q: Is this the blade-clutch solenoid? A: No. It is the starter contactor used only during cranking.

Q: Is this an original-equipment part? A: No. This is a new aftermarket product. Brand names and part numbers are used only to identify compatible applications.
