Refund policy

Northline Parts offers a 30-day return policy on eligible products. Return requests must be submitted within 30 days from the date the order was delivered.

The version of this policy in effect on the date of purchase applies to the order. Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable rights available under applicable law.

Return Approval Is Required

All returns must be reviewed and approved by Northline Parts before an item is shipped back.

To request approval, contact our Returns Department at:

Email: returns@northlineparts.com

Contacting us by phone, voicemail, live chat, or email begins the return-request process but does not automatically approve the return or guarantee a refund.

Customers must receive written return approval and return instructions from Northline Parts before shipping an item back.

Do not return an item to the address shown on the original shipping label, package, packing slip, supplier invoice, marketplace receipt, or other document unless Northline Parts specifically provides that address in writing as the authorized return location.

Returns sent without prior written authorization may be refused, delayed, returned to the sender, or considered ineligible for a refund.

Return Eligibility

To qualify for a standard return, the item must meet all of the following conditions:

  • The return request must be submitted within 30 days of delivery.
  • The return must be approved in writing before the item is shipped back.
  • The item must be unused and uninstalled.
  • The item must be in its original condition.
  • The item must include its original packaging.
  • The item must include all original parts, hardware, accessories, labels, manuals, and documentation.
  • The item must not be modified, altered, damaged, repaired, disassembled, painted, cut, drilled, programmed, or otherwise changed.
  • The item returned must be the same item originally supplied for the order.

Items that do not meet these requirements may be rejected or may not qualify for a full refund.

Installed, Connected, Tested, or Used Parts

Installed, connected, tested, or used parts are not eligible for a standard return.

This restriction includes parts that were temporarily installed, electrically connected, mounted, plugged in, operated, programmed, or used for diagnostic purposes.

Electrical and electronic parts that have been installed, connected, or tested are not eligible for a standard return because equipment wiring problems, voltage irregularities, shorts, improper grounding, incompatible components, and installation errors may damage or alter the product.

If an installed item is believed to be defective, the customer may submit a defective-item claim for review. A claim that a part did not correct the equipment's original problem does not, by itself, establish that the supplied part is defective.

Defective-item claims may require photos, equipment information, installation details, voltage readings, diagnostic information, technician findings, and return of the item for inspection or testing.

Damage or failure caused by improper installation, incorrect application, misuse, modification, electrical problems elsewhere in the equipment, incompatible equipment, incorrect diagnosis, or failure to follow installation instructions is not considered a product defect.

Compatibility, Fitment, and Customer Diagnosis

Customers are responsible for reviewing the product description, part numbers, measurements, connector types, voltage and amperage requirements, model information, engine information, serial-number requirements, and other compatibility details before placing an order.

Product titles may contain multiple reference or replacement part numbers. Customers should verify that the specifications and application match their equipment rather than relying only on a partial title, general model name, photograph, or visual similarity.

If a customer orders the wrong part, no longer needs the item, misdiagnoses the equipment problem, or discovers that the item is incompatible with the equipment, the request will be treated as a non-defective return.

A non-defective compatibility return may be approved only if the item remains unused, uninstalled, complete, and otherwise meets all requirements of this policy.

If Northline Parts supplied a different product from the item ordered or provided materially inaccurate fitment information, we will review the matter as an incorrect-item claim.

Non-Returnable Items

Some products may not be eligible for return because of their condition, product type, manufacturer restrictions, or other limitations. Product-specific return restrictions, when applicable, will be stated on the product page at the time of purchase.

The following items are not eligible for a standard return:

  • Items for which a return request was submitted more than 30 days after delivery.
  • Items shipped back without written return approval.
  • Installed, used, connected, mounted, programmed, or tested parts.
  • Electrical or electronic parts that have been connected to equipment.
  • Items that have been modified, altered, repaired, disassembled, damaged, painted, cut, drilled, or programmed.
  • Items showing installation marks, tool marks, scratches, grease, fuel, oil, corrosion, electrical damage, bent terminals, damaged connectors, or other evidence of use.
  • Items missing original packaging, labels, hardware, accessories, parts, manuals, or documentation.
  • Items returned in packaging that is materially damaged, written on, taped excessively, or otherwise made unsuitable for resale.
  • Items that are not the same product originally supplied by Northline Parts.
  • Items with removed, altered, covered, or unreadable serial numbers, part numbers, identification labels, security markings, or warranty labels.
  • Items specifically identified as final sale or non-returnable on the product page.

Third-Party Fulfillment

Northline Parts may use manufacturers, distributors, independent warehouses, retail marketplaces, logistics providers, or other third-party fulfillment sources to store, package, or ship products.

An order may therefore arrive in packaging that contains third-party branding, marketplace branding, warehouse labels, inventory stickers, packing slips, gift receipts, invoices, promotional materials, or other documents generated by the fulfillment source.

Northline Parts remains the customer's point of contact for the order. Customers should contact Northline Parts rather than contacting or returning the product directly to a third-party fulfillment source.

The use of a third-party fulfillment source does not, by itself, mean that the customer received an incorrect, used, counterfeit, damaged, or defective product.

Third-party packaging, labels, shipping origins, receipts, invoices, or fulfillment documents do not independently qualify an order for a return, refund, reimbursement, or price adjustment.

Third-Party Receipts and Pricing Documents

A package may contain a receipt, invoice, packing slip, gift receipt, marketplace document, or other paperwork showing a price that differs from the amount paid to Northline Parts.

The amount shown on a third-party document may represent a supplier price, marketplace price, wholesale amount, procurement cost, promotional price, replacement value, internal fulfillment amount, gift-receipt value, or another price associated with the fulfillment source.

The customer's purchase agreement is with Northline Parts at the price displayed and accepted during checkout on the Northline Parts website.

A lower price shown on a third-party invoice, receipt, marketplace listing, supplier website, packing slip, or other document does not qualify the customer for:

  • A return based solely on the price difference.
  • A refund based solely on the price difference.
  • A partial refund.
  • A price adjustment.
  • A price match.
  • Reimbursement of the difference.
  • Reimbursement based on Northline Parts' sourcing or fulfillment cost.

Northline Parts' retail price may include product sourcing, availability, inventory access, payment processing, order administration, customer service, fulfillment coordination, warranty assistance, returns administration, and other operating expenses.

Discovering the same or a similar product at a lower price after purchase does not mean that the original order was incorrectly priced, defective, misrepresented, or improperly fulfilled.

The presence of third-party pricing documentation does not automatically make an otherwise eligible physical return ineligible. Any physical return will still be evaluated under the return window, authorization, condition, installation, completeness, shipping, and inspection requirements stated in this policy.

Price Adjustments

Northline Parts does not provide retroactive price adjustments based on prices later advertised or displayed by another retailer, marketplace, distributor, manufacturer, supplier, fulfillment source, or website.

Prices, promotions, discounts, product availability, and supplier costs may change at any time. The price accepted during checkout applies to the order.

A price change occurring after an order is placed does not qualify the customer for a refund of the difference.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

If you believe you received a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, contact returns@northlineparts.com as soon as possible so we can evaluate the issue.

Please include:

  • Your order number.
  • The name and part number of the item.
  • A detailed description of the issue.
  • Whether the item was installed, connected, mounted, programmed, tested, or used.
  • What occurred when the item was installed or tested.
  • Whether reinstalling the original component changed the equipment's operation.
  • Photos of the item, packaging, labels, connectors, mounting points, and any visible damage.
  • Photos of the original and replacement components side by side, when applicable.
  • The make, model, year, engine model, serial number, and other relevant equipment information.
  • Any available technician findings, test results, fault codes, or diagnostic information.

Customers must retain the item and all packaging while the claim is being reviewed. Do not discard, modify, repair, disassemble, or return the item until written instructions are provided.

Defective-item claims are subject to review, inspection, and, when necessary, testing. Submission of a claim does not automatically guarantee a refund, replacement, prepaid return label, or other remedy.

If the returned item is found to function correctly, is incompatible because of customer selection, did not correct an unrelated equipment problem, or was damaged through installation or use, the claim may be rejected as a defective-item claim.

Return Shipping Costs

If Northline Parts confirms that a return is due to an incorrect, damaged, or defective item supplied by us, we will provide a prepaid return label or otherwise cover the approved return-shipping cost.

Customers are responsible for return-shipping costs for non-defective returns, including returns caused by:

  • Ordering the wrong product.
  • Equipment incompatibility.
  • Incorrect customer diagnosis.
  • Change of mind.
  • No longer needing the item.
  • Finding the product elsewhere at a lower price.
  • Third-party packaging, documents, invoices, or receipts.

Original shipping and handling charges are non-refundable unless the return resulted from an error by Northline Parts.

Customers using their own return-shipping method should use a trackable service and retain the shipping receipt and tracking information until the return has been completed.

The customer is responsible for the return package until tracking confirms delivery to the return address authorized by Northline Parts.

Authorized Return Address

The address from which an order was shipped is not necessarily the authorized return address.

Customers must use only the return address provided in the written return authorization issued by Northline Parts.

Do not return products directly to a manufacturer, marketplace seller, supplier, distributor, warehouse, fulfillment partner, shipping origin, or address printed on the package unless Northline Parts has specifically instructed you to do so in writing.

Northline Parts is not responsible for delays, losses, forwarding charges, refusals, or other costs associated with products shipped to an unauthorized address.

Unauthorized Returns

Packages returned without written authorization, without identifying order information, or to an unauthorized address may be refused or may not be processed as a return.

Acceptance of a package by a carrier, warehouse, mailroom, supplier, or other third party does not mean that Northline Parts has approved the return or refund.

If an unauthorized return can be located and recovered, the customer may be responsible for any reasonable forwarding, recovery, or additional shipping costs, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Refused and Undeliverable Shipments

Refusing delivery, failing to collect a package, providing an incomplete or incorrect address, or allowing a shipment to be returned as undeliverable does not automatically cancel the order or guarantee a refund.

If a refused or undeliverable shipment is returned to an authorized facility, Northline Parts will inspect and review the returned package before determining refund eligibility.

For non-defective orders, actual outbound shipping charges, return-shipping charges, carrier fees, address-correction fees, and other reasonable costs incurred because of refusal or an incorrect address may be deducted from an approved refund, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

This deduction will not apply when the return resulted from an error by Northline Parts.

Order Cancellations

Cancellation requests are not guaranteed after an order has been submitted.

Orders may begin processing or fulfillment shortly after purchase. If an order has already entered fulfillment or has shipped, it cannot be canceled and must be handled under the applicable return process after delivery.

Submitting a cancellation request does not confirm that the order has been canceled. A cancellation is complete only after Northline Parts provides written confirmation.

Return Inspection

All returned items are inspected after delivery to the authorized return location.

Return authorization only permits the customer to send the item for review. It does not guarantee that a refund will be approved.

Final refund eligibility is determined after Northline Parts verifies:

  • The identity of the returned item.
  • That the item matches the product originally supplied for the order.
  • The condition of the item and packaging.
  • Whether the item was installed, connected, tested, used, damaged, repaired, or modified.
  • Whether serial numbers, part numbers, labels, and security markings remain intact.
  • Whether all original components, accessories, hardware, packaging, and documentation were included.
  • Whether the item shows signs of improper installation, misuse, electrical damage, contamination, or incompatibility.
  • Whether the return complies with this policy and the written return authorization.

Northline Parts may photograph, document, inspect, or test returned merchandise as part of the review.

We will notify the customer after the inspection has been completed and advise whether the refund has been approved or rejected.

Refunds

If a refund is approved, it will be issued to the original payment method used for the order.

Northline Parts cannot issue a refund to a different card, bank account, person, or payment method.

After Northline Parts processes the refund, the time required for the credit to appear will depend on the customer's bank, card issuer, or payment provider and may take several business days.

Refund confirmation from Northline Parts means that the refund has been submitted to the payment provider. It does not mean that the customer's financial institution will display the credit immediately.

Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable unless the return resulted from an error by Northline Parts.

Payment Disputes and Duplicate Refund Prevention

If a customer opens a chargeback, payment dispute, payment inquiry, or similar claim with a bank or payment provider, the disputed funds may already be withheld or reversed through the payment-processing system.

Northline Parts may be unable to issue a separate refund through the original transaction while an active chargeback is open. The customer may be asked to work with the bank or payment provider to close or resolve the dispute before a separate refund can be processed.

Northline Parts will not knowingly issue duplicate reimbursement through both a merchant refund and a bank or card-provider dispute.

Opening a payment dispute does not replace the requirement to return merchandise when a physical return is required, except where otherwise required by applicable law or the payment provider.
