Product Overview

Low boost, smoke, oil consumption, wheel damage, scraping noise, or excessive shaft movement can identify a failed turbo after charge-air leaks, air restriction, exhaust restriction, crankcase pressure, and lubrication are tested. The root cause must be fixed before the new unit runs.

The turbocharger uses exhaust flow to compress intake air for the Cat C3.8 engine. It cannot correct injector trouble, worn cylinders, a blocked diesel particulate system, or a failed engine-control sensor.

Match 482-8480 or CA482-8480, C3.8 engine, machine prefix and serial, compressor and turbine housings, electronic actuator or wastegate arrangement, flange pattern, and oil/coolant connections.

Match the original part, reference number, dimensions, connectors, mounting points, and product photos before purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can a turbo failure send debris into the engine? A: Yes. Inspect and clean the complete intake and charge-air path before installing the replacement.

Q: Will it fit every 299D3? A: No. Confirm the machine serial prefix, C3.8 engine, actuator, connections, and 482-8480.

Q: Can low oil pressure damage the replacement? A: Yes. A restricted feed, poor drain, contaminated oil, or low engine pressure can cause rapid bearing failure.

Q: Is this an original-equipment part? A: No. This is a new aftermarket product. Brand names and part numbers are used only to identify compatible applications.
