Hard starting, unstable idle, power loss under load, or commanded-versus-actual rail-pressure faults can lead to the metering valve once filters, supply pressure, wiring, rail sensor data, injectors, and the high-pressure pump are tested. The valve controls how much fuel enters the high-pressure pump.
