Product Overview
A tractor that cranks without moving the pump lever, fires and dies when the key returns to RUN, or will not shut off can have a failed pull/hold solenoid. Cab-power relays, cranking relay, ground, linkage, and wiring voltage drop are equally important diagnostic checks.
The solenoid pulls the injection-pump lever to RUN, holds it during operation, and releases it at key-off. It does not repair pump calibration or correct a restricted fuel supply.
Match 3921978, 12 volts, rod length and clevis, mounting bracket, connector or leads, tractor serial range, Cummins engine, and injection-pump lever. Some Case IH listings use J921978, J923257, or J928160 for related configurations, so compare carefully.
