This hand primer lets you refill and bleed the fuel system after a filter change, fuel-line repair or loss of prime. A working primer reduces the amount of cranking needed to get fuel back to the engine.
If the primer will not become firm, check for air leaks at the filter head, lines and fittings. Match 172-6291 and the mounting pattern to the original pump.
