Product Overview

A fuel solenoid can click weakly, stick from varnish, or fail to open even though the starter cranks normally. When the plunger stays closed, the engine may receive no fuel through the main circuit; when shutoff fails, the engine may pop after the key is turned off.

Test for battery voltage and a good ground at the connector before replacing the part. Thread size, plunger length, connector style, and the original number must match.

This is an aftermarket replacement part and is not manufactured or supplied by the original equipment brand.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can the engine crank but not start because of this solenoid? A: Yes, if the valve remains closed and blocks the carburetor’s main fuel circuit.

Q: What if there is no voltage at the connector? A: Check the key switch, fuse, interlocks, wiring, and ground before replacing the solenoid.

Q: Are all Briggs bowl solenoids interchangeable? A: No. Match the part number and physical design.
