Carbon brushes transfer electrical current to the rotating armature. Worn brushes can cause intermittent running, loss of power, excessive arcing or a motor that will not start even though the switch and supply are functional.
N421362 application data supports DeWalt DWE4202, DWE4204, DWE4206, DWE8300S and DWE8310S grinders. Some replacement brush designs incorporate an auto-stop feature that helps interrupt operation as the brush reaches its wear limit.
Inspect the commutator for burning, grooving or heavy contamination before installing new brushes. A damaged armature or field will not be corrected by brush replacement alone.
