Intermittent spark, an engine that shuts off hot, weak ignition timing, or a no-start with fuel and compression can put the CDI module under suspicion. It should be replaced only after the stator, pickup coil, ignition coil, grounds, stop circuit, connectors, and spark plug have been tested.
