A small stone chip can spread after a cold night, a hot defroster cycle, or another road impact. Treating suitable damage early may stabilize the outer glass layer and reduce how visible the break looks before it becomes a long crack.
Not every windshield is a DIY candidate. Do not use on damage in the driver's primary viewing area, at the glass edge, through multiple layers, badly contaminated, or already spreading. Resin repair may remain visible and cannot guarantee original strength or appearance.
