Product Overview
A tractor that cranks normally but has weak yellow spark, becomes hard to restart when hot, or loses spark after running may have a failing coil. Those symptoms can also come from points, condenser, cap, rotor, wiring, or incorrect coil voltage, so the coil should be tested before it is blamed.
The coil raises battery voltage high enough for the distributor to fire the spark plugs. Its internal resistance is intended for the matching 12-volt ignition layout; it is not a universal answer for every 6-volt tractor or every 12-volt conversion.
Confirm a distributor-equipped gasoline engine, 12-volt system, coil polarity, primary resistance, mounting diameter, and 353875R91. Determine whether an external ballast resistor is already in the circuit before installation.
